Julie’s grandparents traveled to all the states during the 1970s and 80s. They captured their experiences along the way. We have their maps, postcards, tourist brochures, and thousands of photos on 35mm slides. We also have video interviews with Grandma Rosalyn before she passed away.
Our mission is to visit as many of the same places as possible, recreate their photos, and document our experiences using today’s technology. We’re sharing the process and adventures on our YouTube channel and Instagram.
Here are a few of the 35mm slides we’ve scanned so far. With every slide we digitize, the map of our own journey becomes clearer. We can’t wait to see where it leads!
